Nominator's project description

Professor Maranger is well known internationally for her outstanding research in nutrient and carbon biogeochemistry and aquatic ecosystem science. She has made fundamental contributions to this field by linking major biogeochemical cycles to organismal functional traits. During her stay in Germany, she intends to investigate the functional role of the littoral vegetation in nutrient retention, carbon storage and reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.
